It. Is. Finished.
Dec. 15th, 2008 10:10 pmI'm finally done with my Christmas decorations! Pictures may be forthcoming soon. I also want to get around to posting some pictures of my recent wander (Rosehill cemetery is awesome).
Until I get all of that up a few things about my current situation.
After more than 17 years I decided it was time to give my pet turtle away. I just wasn't taking care of her lately the way I should. I think I found a good home for her and from what I hear Shelly is doing well.
Several weeks ago I caught a praying mantis. I spent most of my childhood wanting one. It's obviously female because it keeps laying egg sacks (5 so far). At first I figured that I would wait until it died and put the eggs outside, after all they wouldn't hatch until spring. The eggs decided otherwise. Apparently the warmth of the heating lamp was enough to speed up the process. I noticed something dangling from one of the sacks one day and unfortunately the tank top which is small enough to keep the mom in isn't small enough to do the same for hatchlings. I caught all that I could that were in the tank so they could be released outside. Then I put a plastic wrap over the tank with several small holes. After that I spent a long while going over the area near where the tank was and picking up strays to be put outside. For some reason they seemed attracted to a spool of string as I kept finding several of them on it.
A few of you have been posting quizzes and memes and such while I was busy with less important things (like work) I'll get around to posting my responses in my next post. I hope.
