Previously stuff happened.
On to issue #3:

Let's get caught up on what went down between issues shall we?

Joe pretty much beat the *@ out of a bunch of people and ran off with the suit.
He goes to his mom's place and has another nightmare involving the original Shield. He wakes up yelling and his mom comes to comfort him. He tells her what happened and why he's there.

(I'm not sure why he waited until now to tell her.)
As for the scene itself I think it's ok but could have been better. I like when characters go from being just a person in a suit to taking on the mantel of being a hero. To me that is the origin moment. It's a little clunky here but I'm not sure how it could be improved. Do you folks have any ideas?
Moving right along we see some guys with guns in a jungle.

You can guess what happens to them next. A mysterious assassin shows up and kills them all. Turns out it was a test by some dictator to see if he still had what it takes to do a job for him.
Remember those guys from the cover? Well The Shield comes across them hot wiring a car and we're treated to this joke:

He smacks them around a bit until they run off. He then finds the owner of the car who they had knocked out and helps him up:

Obvious joke is obvious.
After that we cut to an old woman who says she knows what's going on with The Shield. She knew the original and has a lot to tell Joe and she worries about The Web finding him. Just them Joe and his mom arrive for a visit. You'll never guess who else also shows up.

Are you ready for wacky hijinks to ensue?
Well then you'll be disappointed. :(

Clark Kent wouldn't last 5 seconds with this guy.
Back to the assassin he checks into a no tell motel and unpacks.

That congressman? He's a little screwed.

Correction: very screwed.
What did people have to say about The Shield when it first came out?

But now the parts you've all been waiting forhardcore nudity! The Ads!:

I have issues 1 and 2 with I'll be posting after I get done with The Shield.

Print out this page immediately and see if you can still join the world of Steven Seagal! You know you want an official t-shirt.
